Inside the face shield, the antiviral filter consists of a carbon filter and a titanium dioxide filter, which is activated by the UV light.

The filter gets charged from the UV light above and releases electrons.
Hydrogen atoms are released from the water molecules, leaving behind hydroxyl radicals. Similarly, the oxygen molecules in the air become charged and superoxides.
The radicals and superoxides destroy organic substances, such as viruses and bacteria, which break down into many molecules, including carbon dioxide and water.
The carbon filter will block the carbon dioxide molecules, only allowing the water molecules and oxygen to flow down the face shield.

The filter only needs to be replaced on a monthly basis, and replacement is super easy and can be done in 3 simple steps!

  1. Pop open the top
  2. Remove the filter and replace it with a new one
  3. Close the top

The used filter is not a biohazard, so you can just throw it away with normal trash.
